Typed properties
Change an accent, intensity, and title visibility from one shared schema.
Build the first wallpaperPick something you want to see on your desktop. These examples use vanilla TypeScript and Vite. Each includes the page,
runtime module, and Vite configuration, so you can run it without choosing a
framework. Install wallpaper-engine and Vite as shown in the
quick start, then copy the files from one example
into your project.

Build the first wallpaperTurn spectrum frames into level, peak, and tempo estimates.
Follow the audio recipeHandle status, metadata, artwork, and playback as independent events.
Build the media cardStart Vite from your example’s project directory:
bun x viteOpen the printed local URL and click the WE Devtools island to expand the simulator. Each example includes a short checklist for its relevant controls. The host adapter is installed before the runtime module registers its listeners.
To build the wallpaper:
bun x vite buildThe output includes project.json and excludes the development simulator. Test
that output in Wallpaper Engine before publishing; see the
Workshop workflow.
Keep host registration in a module imported by your application’s entry point. Callbacks can update application state instead of DOM elements. Register them during module evaluation so startup events do not depend on a component mounting.
The Vue demo source combines typed properties, audio analysis, media, files, and animation in one consumer wallpaper. For individual APIs, use the guides and API reference.
